back to the WRK54G for a moment, I tried an ipconfig /release followed by an ipconfig /renew and got this error:
Unable to contact your DHCP server. Request timed out.


Does this suggest any action I can take until I replace the router?

You could try setting a manual IP address but it could just be the case that the wireless range doesn't reach and the signal quality is not high enough

thanks ...... do you mean specify the IP address on the PC somewhere?

Also the signal strength is "Excellent".

PS I am currently on my work laptop at home now, which is connected via ethernet cable to the router, I can't connect at all on my home PC until I turn off the router, which I can't do because I will then probably get some IP address in use type error on the work laptop and have to reboot that which will take an eon because I am waiting on a memory upgrade .... the joys!!
