i just set up a clean Vbox xpsp2 just to be sure, and posting from it right now as it happens
it should be simple assuming you set the USB2 options in that images config settings before you boot the image, then plug your usb device in, and windows doesnt get a look-in as the Vbox has control of the usb now.
just check the Vbox "Devices" "USB devices" and you should see your USB devices, for instance i can see the lads usb scanner and usb sticks etc.
settings/usb/ "Enable USB Controller" and "Enable USB 2.0 Controller" in the Vbox image of your choice should do it before you start it if not.
oh and its probably easyest to set a "shared folder" before you start as well to save and load any files
between the real and emulated OS images....network browsing can be a little flaky to setup ,so a share is easyer...
yep ment to do that rob, but you replyed far to quick for me to move it and put a link in.

Nope it didn't work, the virtual machine is not detecting the device at all despite having USB enabled in virtualbox. I sorted it now anyway by using my inlaw's computer.

i havent listened to it yet but i noticed staight away putting it though http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ its showing as
22050Hz 128 kb/s , Monophonic
is that 22050 the original files freq, if so its might be very hard to clean it up as theres lots of clipping (loss of high/low information) as might be expected at this freq, if the original is 44000 then it might be doable....
the original was a .WAV container in some mp3 codec i assume !

Well the original was mono hense the 22050Hz (half of a stereo 44100Hz stream) so there is no way to get it any higher (that was the highest quality supported by the voice recorder). I have balanced the file currently on the site so it is played through both speakers as opposed to be truly mono though.

No you will not be opening a new thread. It was closed for the reasons stated. If anyone gets any new information we will consider a new thread then, as we will when the AGM takes place. If anyone has an issue with an admin decision they should contact that team member directly.

My vote is for setting up an independent forum. While there is a lot over at the BT users' forum and Badphorm, neither of those are as rambling as the CF forum was and moving this method of covering the topic to either of them would water them down.
Just my 2p.

My understanding is that there already is an independent forum, where most of these discussions are mirrored.

Where?
Much as I understand the reasons, the timing of the closure of the topic just a few days before the protest is very unfortunate.
Would it not be possible for a mod to add a post to the end of the closed topic pointing to the major other places carrying information and/or discussions about Phorm please?

Re: DPI, Phorm, Webwise subthread for all things OT BR
The decision to close that thread has been made, 'unfortunate' or not, anything that needed to be said to publicise other sources of information could (and should) have been said whilst it was open - possibly in place of some of the negative, cyclic, unconstructive, posts that have necessitated its closure.
I'll take this opportunity to remind everybody that continued discussion/debate regarding a moderating decision should not be conducted via the forum, if you wish to do so you should take the matter up directly with the Team via PM.

We will review the situation tonight. CF has no desire to silence debate on legitimate topics regarding Phorm.

I believe a mod has been asked to post the link onto the end of the old thread.
