This is lawless Britain. A country I was once proud to serve, but am now ashamed to talk about.

The justice system continually fails to uphold our laws. Our policemen are scared to venture out alone. Our judges are too lenient, & the criminals human rights come before the victims.

I could go on, but we've all heard it before, & far too often.
Couldnt agree more. I think your've hit the nail on the head. Something has to be done to stop the protection of the thugs/criminals rather than the true victims of these cowardly crimes.

Manchester. The young man with the shotgun wound was shot whilst trying to stop 4 girls fighting. The left side of his face took a partial blast. Left ear, eye, cheek, mouth, also his left arm. Apparently the shotgun was defective & discharged the shot incorrectly. Probably saved his life, but left him with horrific injuries. He had been in & out of hospital for 6 months. His latest visit was for work on his ear canal reconstruction.

The stabbings were attacks by a gang of yobs, in both cases.

The fractured jaw was from a hooded jogger who simply smacked the lad whilst running past.

My lad & his mates went for something to eat & were attacked. It seems to have been a random "setup", this happened in Milnrow, apparently not for the first time. Gangs of yobs cruise around, select their targets, then jump them.

Mindless. Totally mindless.

In fairness, while these people clearly shouldn't be shooting airgun pellets in public, there is nothing in the article to suggest that they were aiming for the girl or dog, and nothing to suggest they were aiming for anything.

It's interesting (and slightly worrying) how we seem to treat children. On the one hand, we seem to demonise them (and *some* of them do deserve it), but on the other, we seem to mollycoddle them. Take my neighbours kids. They aren't, at heart, bad kids. I'll admit, they *are* annoying though. The problem is that although we have a nice park about 300 metres away, their mum will not let them go there, or take them there as she is apparently scared. The park is safe (no crime there AFAIK in the last 20 years), but the kids usually end up playing cricket in our road, with proper cricket balls.. A few windows have been smashed, and as our road is fairly busy, the kids have nearly been run over a few times.

I have digressed slightly, but my point is that we don't seem to be able to find a balance between mollycoddling and demonising the kids..

Too close to my neck of the woods that.
I hope they catch the people that did it...

Re: An 18-month-old girl was shot with a pellet

We`ve got some lads around here that`re probably 15 or 16 and think they`re all hard nuts.
If one of them ever touches or antagonises a member of my family, i`ll put them in hospital and deal with it later You walk the walk and talk the talk then you`re obviously able to deal with the consequenses. They would`nt do it again though.
I have a right to protect my family and my property, thats my basic human right.
