So I got Rock Band game thinking I would be able to do the same...nope...I can't use a standard controller to play it!

So here's me thinking, what a con. Not only do I have to fork out £40 (around) for the game but I cannot play it at all unless I buy one of the controllers (guitar/drums) for an extra £50/£60. Wasn't very happy when I got home and sat down to give it a go.

What were EA thinking???

To really 'experience' this game and the Guitar Hero games you really should invest in the Guitar Hero III wireless guitar. Its great fun, you won't look like an idiot because you will have soooo much fun that other people will also want a go. Go on!, live a little!, let your hair down! and give the wireless guitar a chance!

Using the guitar is the best part about guitar hero! I don't think i would have bothered buying it if it didn't have a guitar.

Bought the solus game today. and am playing with my GH2 controller. Its so good. I can't wait till I can afford the full instrument kit.

I'm using that guitar also. Heard the official RB one is terrible.

I know, it looks great and has some cool extra features, like the solo buttons and the effects switch but it appears to be really cheaply made even though it costs way more that the GH one.

I gave in and got this lol splitting the cost around the family.

I'm glad i did, it's excellent, just getting used to it at the moment. No one wants to sing so far but i'm sure after a few beers i'll give it a go!

The Rock Band guitar is weird, i prefer the GH one. Plus the guitar hero one is wireless which is better but now we can have a bass guitarist because we have two.

Excellent choice mate. The game is sooo good playing the full hit rock band with mate's and or family while having a few beers and a laugh. The singing part was the same for us, until someome decided to have a go - now everyone wants a go of it! Agree about the RB guitar, looks good but doesn't feel the same as the GHIII wireless guitar (which is excellent by the way) The drums take abit of getting used to - start on easy only for a few days is my advice. We have some friends coming around tomorrow evening to play rock band so should wake the neighbours!
