Did you enjoy living in sheffield? it's been years since i've been anywhere near it.
Quite a few nice looking places as i recall, with a few very rough area's as well??
Well, if you come back from norway, you know where to move now to get fast net!

Loved it! Although it's overrun by the Chav **** that also inhabit every corner of England (even Kent).
Most of the old rough areas have cleaned up a bit, like the Manor Top, which used to be rough, is now habitable (or so i'm told). But new bad areas arise all the time. And yep, i'll move to Bournemouth if the upload is good

Alot of legitimate uses.
Legal HD P2P, linux distros, legal p2p, legal film download services etc.
I also code alot and thus require a high upload.
At one point i was also a distro mirror and was constantly uploading.
Plenty of none legal purposes for it as well of course

Manor Top, i remember when that place looked like a drug dealers den! hard to image it being all cleaned up.
Chavs dont bother me, i just ignore them..besides they are around no matter where you go in the UK!
You'd move all the way to bournemouth just for a fast upload connection?

Nah, who am i kidding, i'd move to Sheffield, or near, but far enough away so it was effort to get there... I have a deep dark secret (nothing sinister or illegal, lol) and i fear living in Sheffield again would make me lose all control. lmao.
Hmmm, back on topic. High upload vs High download.... Erm, balance is best IMO. Funny how SDSL never took off really though.
How did you handle becoming a distro mirror though? lol. Which connection did you use for that one then :S

Re: 25Mbit Symetrical
bloomin' heck. Here's us chumps paying nearly £40 for 20M/760k, and those lucky sods in Sheffield can get 15Mbit down 4Mbit/up for only 15 quid. o:
DO WANT!!

Oooooh do tell
I think i'd lose all control if i ever moved back to lincoln...so your not alone LOL
SDSL was just too pricey imo...and it wasnt well advertised either so most people had no idea what the hell it was!
I was back in france then with 100mbit symetrical, we (i and the group) used to be a distro mirror for fedora, ubuntu and gentoo, those were the days!
That was nearly 4 years ago though...im feeling old...damnit.

Gotta agree, i used to be great at jumping things, whether vertically or horizontally... Used to be routinely able to jump onto things about 3/4 my height. (Use your toes, you'll be surprised )
Tried it a year ago... Let's just say concrete has never tasted so... Close.

Same!
I also used to run straight down really high walls (about 6-10foot high) when i was 12-15.
Looking back now, i take one look at how high up it is and think *f**k that!* might hurt myself...lol
I did try it once though...just to prove a point!...you tasted concrete, i landed in nettles

Never a Doc leaf or two when you need one though is there? Not that they ever worked on me mind.
Just have to accept even though i'm supposed to be peaking in the athletic sense... I've put on weight, and lost muscle
Hmm, we've derailed this one well and truly.
Sorry mods!
