this is what i call unacceptable:

Test 1: 1024K took 4069 ms = 251.7 KB/sec, approx 2074 Kbps, 2.03 Mbps
Test 2: 1024K took 7554 ms = 135.6 KB/sec, approx 1117 Kbps, 1.09 Mbps
Test 3: 1024K took 4508 ms = 227.2 KB/sec, approx 1872 Kbps, 1.83 Mbps
Test 4: 2048K took 9378 ms = 218.4 KB/sec, approx 1800 Kbps, 1.76 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 1716 Kbps, 1.68 Mbps

pretty normal for brighton ubr: brig8 and to be honest i have never had more than about 6meg.
and i pay £37 per month for that service or lack of as the case maybe

Thanks for the replies. Apart from saturday and a couple of hours late sunday evening (where even general browsing was very slow) things have been ok. Not full speeds, but few are that fortunate , however they are not cause for complaint. The quoted speeds in the OP were tested using the recommended methods. I am awaiting saturday to see if things are better.
