The Irish Sea is a *horrible* bit of water, and always has been.
Do they not,as responsible mariners, check the shipping forecast? This is madness. I check it and I do'nt even captain a passenger carrying ferry !

Er, yes, it was a freak wave. Plenty of other ships out there, if you check the online shipping website for the area (linked off the BBC). If you want to run a risk free ship, don't leave port.

We have had high winds driving rain, sleet, hail, snow here in the Nottingham\Mansfield area. I straddled the centre markings on the A614 on the way home due to high winds blowing me car into the on coming lane.
