Here is an update from the V+ team on the software upgrade downloaded to V+ boxes this morning.
Bug Fixes
2056 Errors on Recordings
A bug could lead to your recordings being incorrectly deleted from the hard
disk during a box reset. This produced 2056 errors which sometimes could
lead to the disk needing reformatting. This bug has been fixed and further
2056 errors should not occur. Unfortunately it will not fix existing
recordings that had this problem before the upgrade.
Improved picture quality
A bug that in certain circumstances could cause the picture to jump or skip
has been fixed. We are aware that at other times this issue may still occur
and are working hard to fix it completely.
SCART Output in HD Mode
The VCR SCART output for live TV has been disabled when your V+ box is in
HDMI mode. This is because the picture quality on the VCR SCART was very
poor if HDMI was the main output. This does not affect your ability to
archive recordings.
PIN Protection
Recordings from PIN protected channels such as Sky Movies 9 and 10 will now
follow watershed hours.
"Are you sure you want to Exit Delayed TV" on channel change
A bug is fixed whereby an auto-tune reminder that went off whilst watching
delayed TV could lead to every subsequent channel change resulting in the
prompt for leaving delayed TV.
Out-of-date programme information appears sometimes in the Mini-Guide.
The now and next information in mini-guide should be more reliable.
Series Link 'yellow button' in Mini-Guide
The yellow series link button will now only be displayed in mini-guide when
a working series link exists.
Outstanding Known Issues that are not fixed in this release
The following issues are being investigated by the V+ team for deployment in
future updates.
Intermittent Box Lock-Ups
V+ can sometimes lock up and does not respond to key presses for up to 20-30
seconds. This is particularly noticeable between 00:00 and 00:30 but can
occur at other times of the day.
Audio on ETV Applications
Intermittently audio may not be available on some BBCi applications. This
problem also affects EuroNews where it is not possible to re-select English
audio once another language has been selected without exiting the language
selection application.
Video Freezing Blocking and Blanking
Network issues on certain channels can lead to the V+ box freezing, blocking
and blanking the video to a greater extent than on standard V boxes.
Known affected channels include UKTV channels, Channel 4, E4, E4+1, More4,
More 4+1 and Sky Movies. The team are working to make V+ more tolerant to
these issues.
Audio Cracking and pops
Some customers are experiencing an ongoing intermittent issue with audio
pops on some channels. This is more noticeable if V+ is connected to a home
cinema system.
Adult Pay Per Night and Live Events Listings Missing or Not Complete
If adult or live events listings do not appear or are incomplete, please
reboot V+ and wait for approximately ten minutes. The listings for that day
will then be available within 'More TV'.

Lawdavemercy - corblimmeyguv'nor!!!!
That's over half of my issues solved in one fail swoop!!!!
Proof is in the using of course and I will be commeding the Techie geeks for dealing with this in due course. Props where props is due - that's what I say.
Over the weekend when I watch the most TV I'll be able to recognise and appreciate these fixes - but to praise in advance a very big thanks to all those that were responsible, I can feel the corners of my mouth curling upwards in a semi psuedo smile.
WELL DONE VM TECH
