6.4 Time for Payment and
Disconnection for nonpayment
We require bills to be paid on time.

If you fail to pay your bill on time, you will receive a reminder. If you do not then pay within the period specified in the reminder you may be disconnected.

Disconnection will be effected initially by us suspending our service electronically on or from the 20th day after the statement date of the unpaid bill.

If the bill has still not been paid by the 45th day after the statement date, we will effect a full disconnection through the recovery of our equipment from your premises.

You will not be reconnected until you have paid the outstanding amount and a reconnection fee.

If you are having difficulty in paying your bill, please contact your Customer Management Centre.

We will do our best to be considerate to any of our customers who are experiencing genuine payment difficulties. "

ofcourse as regards :"If the bill has still not been paid by the 45th day after the statement date, we will effect a full disconnection through the recovery of our equipment from your premises."

if NTL:tw Credit Control send round ntl contracted agents Qnet http://www.click2qnet.com then all bets are off, and anyone could be disconnected at anytime, even the fully payed up ones

its also worth pointing out that if you do finally get cut off, there is a £20 reconnection fee that will have to be paid aswell as the overdue balance before they will reconnect you.

Its actually £25 these days, and its only payable if the account is completely disconnected (ie no payments showing for 4-5 months). If the account is simply suspended due to non-payment, then there should be no charge for the lifting of those suspensions.

Re: overdue payment (Broadband)

Just got it done
gave them payment via (visa)debit card and set up a new direct debit

asked them why payment didnt go through
and was told we were on direct debit
but they just have records of payment not going through
but dont have any details of why it didnt

and the amount was £104.97
another months worth
need to check my dad statement later to see if they are correct
(only checked lastest lastnight)

Strange - it would normally give the standard direct debit reasons for the payment being returned, such as refer to payer, intruction cancelled, etc.

No doubt the £104.97 sounds correct, as if you've recieved a reminder for two months overdue it will almost always mean that another bill (and another months charges) will have been produced since then.

well from personal experience, just over 2 months ago, it was still £20 reconnection fee which was applied within 2 months of a bill not being paid (telephone), due to ntl overcharging me for services that should of been cancelled, they eventually disconnected my broadband until the bill was paid...well once they had managed to sort the correct amount on the bill...and wouldnt waive the reconnection fee either, even though it was their mistake on the bill....eventually got my bb back and after some complaining its now reduced to the price of £17.99 for 12month (4mb), so not all bad.
