BT have now changed that, i worked for them @ the Grimsby Switch and i was always told to warn them once and if they contiued then you were allowed to hang up. With the exception of 999.

Have already begun to write the letter, one thing i am concerned about is how ill they trace him, do they have a system that tracks everyone that will access my account. I did ask him to send me all my bills since i started with NTL back in feb, so will that have left a track. I think his name was Tim
[Mod Edit (Chris T] When you quote people, please ensure you correctly identify who you are quoting. I have substituted the incorrect name in your second quote with 'andygrif', the correct one.

Just drop it. Whether you intended him to hear you or not, you called him a f***ing n**head. You started it. It's damned two-faced of you to come on all righteous now and try to get the CSR in trouble for rising to it. As I said, you should consider that you had a lucky escape.

Re: Reported for Abuse
I agree with you Bill but, in a customer-orientated department, it probably wasn't the wisest thing this guy could have done.
In fairness, if iommi isn't happy then he is perfectly within his rights to make a complaint, just as the employee is perfectly within his rights to explain his side.

Re: Reported for Abuse
TBH the CSR started all of this by putting me on hold in the first place wiothout informing of what he was goin to.
Any good call centre agent knows not to just ppl on hold, have no long silences and always be polite. And to call a customer back to try and get the to repeat what they had said is discusing.
I admit that maybe i shgouldnt of said it but when ya think they have hung up, it gets ya mad
He shouldnt of done it period

Bill, I'm neither having a go at you nor defending iommis actions.
For all we know, this particular employee could be on here, but that's by the by. If a complaint was made, then the employee would be able to put his side of the story - as Chris has said, iommi wasn't exactly tactful in the language he used, but the employee shouldn't have rung him back purely to get iommi to repeat himself.

I know you are not having a go
I agree there is no place for it. But then we have posters on here making up reasons so the op can have a go back. Then i am misquoted which has now been edited so you can see why i just see another lets get at NTL post.

Re: Reported for Abuse
This thread is such b*ll*****. First of all, if it had been the other way round, those of you suggesting that the OP report the rep ( for what??????) would've come down on the rep like a ton of bricks. Hypocrits.
Secondly, I find it a little suspicious that the OP NEVER MENTIONED BEING ON HOLD UNTIL ANDYGRIF DID!!!! The OP though he had been cut off. Which meant there must have been silence on the end of the phone - NOT HOLD MUSIC THAT YOU GET WHEN YOU ARE GENUINELY PUT ON HOLD AT NTL.

Sorry OB, what was your point again
Obviously, you know more about working at ntl than I do, but do the phones not also have the 'Secrecy' feature on them? I'm only asking because we're supposed to use Hold where I work but, seeing as whenever I do that I lose the caller when I try to get them back, I just mute them.
Thoroughly OT I know, but I'm just curious

Some phones do, some phones don't. My doesn't, only HOLD. And why would the agent have put him on secrecy if he'd thought the convo had finished (as the OP stated, it just about had)???? Surely the rep would've hung up? Sorry, something's fishy. The OP is just ****ed off at getting caught being abusive, doesn't think the rep has any right to miffed about being called a ****ing ********, and wants to turn the whole thing from him to the rep. As I said, it's all b*ll*****.

No it's not ... it's a nice opportunity to allow the OP to make himself look rather silly.
