Cant send emails ? - Page 2

I've had tis problem for the last few days - cannot send any mail - including to another NTL account....

get something like (from memory) RCPT : Account does not exist.

Receiving mail ok..

I had thought it was due to a config issue, as I had just rebuilt and was using a linux client - I have not yet tested it from the windows build on my PC, and will try this tonight (I will also check my IP address, as I have a feeling it starts with either 82 or 86...)

ok - fixed mine - it was a config error - must learn to type one day... (had SMTP set to authenticate

Looks like I have fixed the problem myself.

I change the SMTP value from SMTP.BOLTBLUE.COM to SMTP.CWCOM.NET.

The boltblue setting had worked fine for more than 12 months. I changed it to boltblue on their instruction. They said the CWCOM settings were incorrect.

In my conversations with both NTL and Boltblue each told me to consult the other. Each said they were not responsible for administering the mail servers. ??? Wonder who is doing it then ?

So, something changed on the mail server admin but either it was an uncontrolled change or somebody hasn't checked the impact.
