hmm... while fidding i just discovered that alt + 4 on the forum pages takes you to the forum search!
I'm now wondering if there is a â‚ ¬ sign on a mac.... haven't got a mac keyboard so when i'm really bored i'll have a fiddle

Yep, there is, it's on the 2, alongside the @ (UK Mac keyboards are more like American ones in layout). It's switched off at the mo so I've not fiddled with it to see what the keystroke is. Prolly very similar to the PC.

The americanish layout of the keyboard is rather annoying when switching between mac and pc constantly.... i try to write to many emails as someone"mac.com grrrrr

I was trying Alt+0176, as listed on the character map but was using the normal keys, if I use Alt+0176 on the numeric keypad that also gives the degrees symbol.

the other one i've committed to memory is alt + 0153, but it tends only to be useful for Highly Sarcastic Authoritative-looking Phrasesââ€à …¾Ã‚¢
