I live in Lordshill, and I'm on the 1.5Mb service.

I do get the odd day when the connection slows down a bit, but IMO that's to be expected. Most of the time I never notice anyway because any downloading is always done in the background and browsing never seems affected.

Yes the problems with NTL's network are worse once you cross Romsey rd.

and the start of millbrook. Most of the cab's need updating, thay were never ment to supply so many users per node.

Well I have had it confirmed (unofficially from within ntl) that Southampton upgrades have been "suspended indefinitely, due to lack of funding"

Apparently, Winchester is having "some" remedial work done, but the main bit of that is awaiting release of funding.

Oh dear......

Re: Ntl Bad Service Southampton

No better at all, I've had low signal for the last week. I keep getting dropped, no sync/ready lights for 2 days flat. Its only this minute just come back on... But it's still dropping every minute or so. In the last week I'd say I've had about 5 hours uptime total.

Called last week, an engineer was booked for last Thursday but they've rescheduled for this Wednesday, this has happened no less than six times and they 'turn the signal strength up' at the box or summin (Not sure if this is correct, they told me this last time) but it always goes sour a week or so later

Ahhhh Southampton, the pinnacle of ntl service
