My first post was in response to mdean's post saying that he came from Sky to ntl because of the red button. I got the impression that mdean would prefer it not to come to ntl.

I was well p'd off with C4's constant showing of the red dot during Big Brother, so I can fully understand that

But I thought that the BBC interactive service during Euro 2004 and the World Snooker championships were very good and I was glad that the interactive service was working.
I know the BBC red button isn't as bad as CH4, but that's the broadcaster's fault not ntl or sky's.
Also, it's early days yet for interactive. Hopefully, it'll get better once they realise what they can do.

The BBC have it spot on IMO when it comes to the red dot. When it appears, it's not there very long. And when it comes to the content, being able to choose what game you want to watch (Euro2004/Snooker/Olympics) is something I don't go without. We'll see what they can do, but my feeling is that multiscreen will be the main thing

Re: Red button for Sky sport/movie channels
The sky movies multistart would be okay as well, because it's annoying when you miss the start of a movie.

I would prefer no red button - it is not needed-
I did not say no interactive content
I know there is teletext on analogue tv - I dont need an on screen prompt
No to the red button - at the very least a user should be able to get rid permantley

Football first on Sky Sports is pretty good, where you press the red button and you can select which match that you want to watch extended highlights off.

Re: Red button for Sky sport/movie channels
I personally agree with NTLrocks. A lot of people on this board do like to moan a lot about nothing.
I left sky just under 2 years ago and would never look back to sky after the constant rubbish service I had with them.

Re: Red button for Sky sport/movie channels
LOL i had rubbish service with them aswell, they always gave me rubbish digiboxe's and then the minidish always used to come loose and we would get no tv signal for days to there incompetence. There are a few downsides to NTL currently which can all be solved with lots of money being thrwon in them but then no one is really investing are they!

Re: Red button for Sky sport/movie channels
The only Sky interactive services that I find any good are BBCi (what ntl has now), Sky News Active (8 multiscreens) and the Multi-start feature on Sky Movies 3 is brilliant, apart from them, everything is a money making service by Sky.
