.. everybody hoarding their small change
.. everybody using the biggest note possible to pay for goods
.. everybody saying NO i wont buy a new car when the new registration comes out
that sort of thing, I come back home and find surprise surprise NTL email is down, not that it bothers me now I use spymac and BT now.

Is there a peaceful protest that NTL customers could, en-mass make to get a better service ? Short of everybody leaving that is.
Causing more detriment to an already ailing service is not really what I'd call a peaceful protest, leaving en masse as you mention, is.

Not true - you can register on CF with a Yahoo or Hotmail address.

Re: Email Protest

Anyway personally I don't have much gripe about the email service.

Until today.According to the status page the problem lasting 19 hours that affected EVERY ntl user yesterday has been resolved.Really? So why am I still waiting on one account for email? It worked 10 minuted ago so I could get all my fecking spam. But now zilch.

It has to be the one I use for online ordering too.

That's changed then. It was the only reason I got a ntlworld email address last year, when I got rid of AOL and had to change the one that I gave to this site.

I remember having a massive arguement with Craig J on .com as I didn't have a ntlworld email address, but was using ntl BB.

Yes. Everyone affected could add a sig to all email and newsgroup postings warning how poor ntlworld's service is. That's what I've done.

Just remembered, it was still on .com when I changed to a ntlworld email.

Well you still won't be able to use POP/SMTP, you will still get bombarded with adverts and still have that annoying advert tagged onto the bottom of every email you send and there's no guarantee of you getting an email address you want!

I use MS Outlook to retrieve my Hotmail mail from home, & I have done for as long as I can remember.

Can use pop/smtp with both yahoo & hotmail they give you instructions on how to set it up when you open your account. Yahoo has less ads than hotmail and for a free service that allows you to block 100 spam email addresses at a click of your mouse & scan's for viruses the miniumal anonyce of ads is worth it. There is not guarantee you will get the email address you want with ntl either

Re: Email Protest

Well i havent posted, or needed to post on any ntl forum for a few years now. But on checking my email again today, thinking the problem should have been solved by now...NO it bloody hasent.

I checked the server status page and it says the problem with the email started yesterday It fecking well didnt start yesterday. I havent had my ntl email for days?

Ive got rid of the ntl TV and have a better (and cheaper service with more channels) from Sky, I still have my NTL phone as i can only get crappy BT otherwise, am i gonna have to get a better broadband service from another company to replace the black box of crap under my desk too?

Unimpressed.

If i remember rightly there used to be several email servers so this problem wouldnt effect so many users. It NTL still in bankrupcy and had to flog a few of em?

I'm thinking about doing the same too, NTL have had their chances with their inept internet service. I'm going to give BT a go.
