As far as I'm aware it's very rare for customers to get a poor service from ntl dialup. It's a very good dialup ISP especially with narrowband users moving to cable modems and the reasons for poor quality are either customer equipment or the telco line itself.

I agree with you its just that NTL telephone lines have a little problem with software modems.
The nokia cards in some cases have to be set to data, in fact it was one of my first post on the old site was about dial up problems.
