From the reports and video, he was not affected or directly involved in the shooting, but it took place in the same hotel where he was attending an event.

What gets me is the security video in the hotel, I have better quality on my blink door bell.
Then this guy ran past x number of Secret Service agents, who took forever to get their guns out and didn't shoot him (unlike to other alleged assassination attempts)
