Who would I suggest or who do I think would be a realistic target?

You would you suggest out of the realistic targets?

Re: Football Season 2014/15
The closest thing to a realistic target I’d be happy with right now is Pep Guardiola, our only chance with him is his close relationship with SAF and the promise of a large transfer budget.
Unrealistically-wise I have to say the only other manager I’d have confidence in is Mourinho.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
Personally l think Pep will stay at Bayern for another year whilst l can see Mourinho staying at Chelsea for quite a few years yet.

With the challenge of making United great again with a large transfer budget I reckon Pep could be tempted.
It would take a MASSIVE falling out from Chelsea for Mourinho to take over. He's the only other quality qualified manager in the PL.

Seems a tad hopeful. I think Ancelotti might be a good bet. Having trouble at Real Madrid and probably wouldn't be too hard to attract at the end of the season. Good manager, good CV, Premier League experience.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
That's why I've not suggested either are exactly realistic, Pep being slightly more though. To be a successful manager at United I think the right man needs (other than what you've suggested) is a massive ego and an arrogant streak a mile wide. Not saying any of those are good things but part of United's strength in the past was the swagger and mind games even before the teams were on the pitch. The problem with LVG is he is egotisti and arrogant enough but unproven in the PL
Pep could get a good insight from his friendship with SAF but who knows. Ancelotti is a potential but let's see what happens in the summer.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
Changing the manager every year is going to get the club nowhere. Van Gaal needs another season minimum, it would be completely ridiculous to get rid of him at the end of the season, even if he doesn't get top 4.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
I'm not quite at the 'LVG Out' stage yet but I'm having my doubts as I'm not seeing anything yet so far that impresses me.
The last thing I want is United to become a laughing stock in terms of City and Chelsea where managers come and go every few months. But I'm not convinced he's the right man, I hope to be proven wrong.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
Question for the Utd fans... Does LVG and Man Utds DNA match or come close to matching?

The simple fact is if he does not make the top 4 the money men at the top will demanding why just like they did when Moyes failed to make the top four and we know what happened to him.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
Highlights that Moyes got a raw deal in my view. Moyes had a much more stressful inheritance and wasn't giving the money LVG was.
