Fair enough, that is a VM targeted decision. But it means that all the non sports fans who want all the pay TV channels are better off elsewhere or Cord Cutting.
|
don't forget sky wont let any one have SA at all and other than some HD channels not a lot non sport channels that VM don't have

But that 75 million has to come from somewhere, and as a non sports watcher, I resented paying my part towards it. Therefore I quit XL and used the money for streaming services.

It doesn't matter what package you have, VM will use all of their money to put towards it. Leaving the XL pack seems a little extreme.
You can pay VM for just broadband, but they will use that money to pay for BT Sports for customers to have on their XL Package.
I did read your original post incorrectly and I apologise for that. Trying to read quick while at work :-)

Well each to their own as at the end of the day we do have that freedom of choice.

If it does go into the xl pack expect a significant price rise to follow.

Sorry but nbcsports is cracking quality as is fox sport too both stream online (via a vpn and us login) not quite as good as Sky hd but almost there.

Agree with this best thing i did was cut the cord, ok i have plusnet tv now but that's only £8p/m including hd and has the channels i watch that plus £7p/m to my friend in the US for xfinity = much better value than vm could ever give.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
We may get it included in the xl pack but we all know we will pay for it later on through price rises.i would have been quite happy to have paid an extra fiver a month for it.after all it's only the price of a pint of beer up the town in edinburgh.this would have meant that non sport viewers were not having to pay for something they have no interest in.i think virgin should be letting people "pick and mix"their channels as i only watch about ten channels max out of all the channels available.

Unlikely but it could happen, especially as Sony announced at E3 that Sony vue customers can soon subscribe to individual channels rather than packs.
Who knows vm and sky may think "hold on Sony are onto something here we want a piece of that pie"

Even better though probably difficult to administer would be that all channels, films and sport are available but you pay for the one(s) and the time you actually view. A sort of Pay As You View in like pence/pounds per hour depending upon the content.

I'm not sure how big a "drove" is, but VM's churn is at a record low.

Haven't VM now started lumping UPC Ireland figures in I believe Sky do the same they also include Now TV subs making it ever harder to get the full picture.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
The question is are they still making quite a lot of money still despite the deals and discounts being given and the answer is yes.
