Not wanting to get involved, but there are a few articles which mention another players being involved in the Premier League rights
https://www.theguardian.com/football...chester-united
Who wouldn't believe Man Utd's Vice-Chairman? :-)

Let's hope the relaunch also includes a revamp of their schedules and not just new idents! I am not very happy with the quality of the programming on here, and given their love of The Simpsons, maybe they should think about launching a Simpsons Channel, leaving a nice space in the Sky 1 schedules for some good new dramas.

And you base that, and in future auctions too, you will base that on what has gone before.
There is no credible information out there to suggest that this state of affairs will continue forever. You could be right this time around, although not necessarily, but Sky would do well just to get the smaller packages in subsequent auctions.

How would removing The Simpsons leave some space for new dramas , new dramas on most channels are aired at 9pm not in the 6-8pm slots The Simpsons usually occupies.

Indeed, some dramas of the same quality as Sky Atlantic, but maybe made in the UK, would be good.

You know what is going to happen at the next auction OB and yet you have this can't see it intransigence in the very faint hope that somehow Sky will lose the premier league rights to the big media companies or the streaming giants which frankly is unrealistic in the extreme IMO.
And now you go on about them losing them at subsequent auctions so your assertion that they were going to lose the rights at the next auction is a bit like a chameleon who seems to change his opinions on a regular basis to suit his argument.

Not a bad call or work with FX to bring Simpsons world to the UK, so every ep of the Simpsons is available via on demand.

The bigger sides will be shown more as they are more popular with the viewers.
