Sky didn't really get BT content either yes it's available on the platform but BT themselves maintain the subs, i could launch a prem channel tomorrow (never happen as i don't have the money lol) and SKY would need to carry it on their platform if i wanted, had the licence and paid the EPG fess etc.
So that kind of puts water on your cornflakes.

Oh yeah? Well, where is Sky Sports UHD, BT Sport UHD and Sky Atlantic, for starters.
If Discovery won the premiership rights, things could change significantly!

Yeah VM are that great at getting content they still haven't got freesports which is on freesat and freeview oh they won't have BT sport in XL pack much longer either.
Also remind me where is AMC on vm oh that's right they haven't got it on their platform and never will either.
Enjoy your drum.

what has sky not let anyone else SA and sports UHD have to do with VM not have content like they not letting anyone else have it as I keep telling you OB sky will never ever let anyone else have SA or sports UHD so please tell us all OB what can VM do when sky wont let anyone ever have them
ps if other providers had it without VM then you would have a point

You are so defeatist, Dave! It has everything to do with it.
Sky would not like having popular channels on VM's platform that they were unable to bring their viewers, and this would provide an excellent backdrop for a trade.
I mean, if Discovery were to win the lion's share of the Premiership rights, think of the damage that would be done to Sky if Discovery were not willing to play ball with Sky. If Discovery then said that Sky could have their HD and UHD channels if Sky did a deal on Sky Atlantic, do you really believe that Sky would fold its arms and fail to do that deal? That's just one scenario I could envisage.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2017)
Oh Old Boy you do seem to live in complete fantasy land sometimes , withhold a Sports channel from the UK's biggest pay TV platform by some distance that would certainly lose them a shed load of viewers something they certainly wouldn't be able to afford if they'd outbid Sky.
Have you seen how much the current rights cost BT and Sky eye watering to say the least.

They would inherit Sky satellite subscribers if Sky wouldn't do a deal!

TV3, B3 and 3e will have programme rights for the Republic of Ireland but are unlikely to hold programme rights for the UK. ITV is unlikely to allow their own content to be aired in the UK by another broadcaster. UK rights for many other programmes will be held by other broadcasters in the UK. So if VM tries to go down this road, the content would be very different to that on the Irish channels.

Not as a platform operator but if they acquire a PSB, that's a whole new ball game.

Would LG share holders be happy with losing champions league, Europa league etc?
BT can offer bt sports on their app and website so could gain some of those lost viewers that way. Vm aren't as untouchable as some think infact no company is keep in mind Vm have already cheesed bt off over the Eiresport only time will tell.

I hate Vm as most know but i'd rather they had Itv as itv is a shadow of what it used to be but i think Sky would go for itv too.
Interesting times ahead i think.
