Re: [Merged] Football talk
Yid is a derogatry term for Jews. Once upon a time Tottenham used to be a huge Jewish community, but they have all been long forced out. They went down to the to Islington and Finsbury,e tc. Curiously, closer to Arsenal. Having Sugar as chairman once upon a time probably sealed the nickname.
Most of our own football chants that Spurs fans use contains "yid" in them. we shout yids after the guy bangs the drum, and we shout "yid army" too.
It is nothing new, if someone gives you an insult, if you start using it against yourself, it no longer becomes offensive. I remember when Spurs played Ipswich or Norwich once and the away fans started chanting: "I can't read or write, but that don't matter. Cuz I come from Ipswitch/Norwich and a I drive a tractor"

Why not [suppose we have to beat Spuds first], it's a decent draw.
And the Spuds replay is on sky 2nd March as well.

Re: [Merged] Football talk
I can't see Forest putting the Geordies over, especially not in Toon Land.

They stand no chance with that encounter. I'm not being biased because I support them , or sound like a geordie accourding to Swansea, but I find it hard to see them winning such a game. It will be a good match however, and as this is the FA cup...you never know!
Away from the FA cup for a moment, I can't wait when my home team are playing Forest in Leugue 1! or, when my home team are promoted and forest tumble down

Re: [Merged] Football talk
looking at the draw i can't really see any chance of an upset..
maybe Bolton can beat Arsenal if they get past Sheffield United but by then i expect them to field a full strength side as might not have anything else to go for..

The Champions league kicks off again this coming week, united hopefully will not concede a goal at home to stand a chance of getting through, no doubt that the Italians will have done their homework on Rooney & Ronaldo.

Jose Mourinho will know a bit about Barcalona, but will find it hard to beat them.

Arsenal meet Bayern Munich and if Arsenal play at their best, they should get through.
I am looking forward to this coming weeks fixtures
