He's now comfortably ahead of Suzy Perry in terms of lead presenter. At the same time the BBC have lost Jake Humphrey, let Gary Anderson go and now we only see Eddie Jordan on live broadcasts - and he might appear a clown but he's actually broken some of the major stories over the last few years and that shouldn't be ignored.
On top of that some of Sky's Senna memorial programming was really good - especially The Last Teammate which I thought was really powerful, it certainly caught my mood on the day.
But, as I said earlier, the BBC's coverage is still decent, and streets ahead of most of the rest of the world, with the possible exception of France. Sky have definitely got themselves ahead though.

My only problem with sky sports F1 is the fact it's can't be subscribed to as a standalone channel. I really don't need the other sky sports channels as I get all I need from Eurosport, ESPN and BT Sports for free, but sky really want to hold F1 to ransom for SSF1 by making us VM customers have to subscribe to the otheR SS channels.

I'm getting more than a little bit fed up with this. Three of our favourite series cancelled. What is wrong with the yanks? Maybe they contain a bit too much thinking involved and not enough burger, fast cars, cheesey fat American kids shouting "Awesome" from behind a barrier whenever a superhero fight breaks out (where do these instantaneous barriers come from) oh and lots of Pepsi and Coke. Also why do they have to tell us what has just happened after every break? RANT RANT RANT

I agree I don't need anything else offered by Sky Sports either, but you can't really blame Sky. The BBC wanted to reneg their deal, and FOM allowed it, and even allowed the BBC to dig their heels in and keep half the races. If they'd been prepared to give it up, or FOM had made them, then Channel 4 would have taken the lot and we'd still be watching it fta.
I'm finding NowTV a very good alternative to a full Sky Sports sub. I take advantage of the races that the BBC show live, and then buy a day pass for the ones on Sky. This normally involves watching qualifying time shifted, as they usually show a full rerun which happens to start within 24 hours of the scheduled finish of the race, and then the race live, which I can live with. Essentially, then, it's £9.99 a month.
Better still is the fact that box is about £35 bundled with five day passes, and I still have the left, so it's even cheaper.

I never made it past the very first series of 24 after it used every cliché in the book - some of them twice.

I'll agree with you there, it's a farce. The best place to launch a show in the US is on cable.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2
What package will these new Sky Sports HD Channels launch on? Will they be joining with Sky Sports 1 and 2 HD package or will a new package be created?

So these could be the 3 test channels I've read about elsewhere.
Be good to get History in HD finally.

I think it's a toss up between historyhd, nat geowildhd, cihd and the missing skysportshd channels.

Thanks for that. As I thought the price would be. At £7 it isn`t worth paying for as I`d only get sky sports 1 and 2 in hd.

My money would be on the first three as I really do think that if the SS HD channels were to launch, we'd hear about it beforehand so we could pay extra.
Sky News HD and Sky Sports News HD might just turn up in XL though. So they could be mixed in with your original three though.
Mind you, I often lose money...

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2
If sky sports 3,4 and news are coming to virgin then my guess is sky no longer see them as a weapon against virgin. Sky seem to be concentrating more on their better on demand service as a way to attract customers from virgin.
Virgin really do need to up their game with on demand as it is now very poor in comparison to sky`s.
