rang CS last night and the lady said that it would be applied to the account without having to reboot the modem.
|
It didn't for me. A guy on DigitalSpy said that my area had been upgraded, but my modem configs still showed that I was on 4MB until I unplugged the modem for 30 seconds and plugged it back in. Even on the upgrade schedule page it says that you may need to reboot.

Every little helps.
Hi All
If you are in an ex ntl area on a 4 meg service and our evenfaster site
states that your upgrade should have been completed could you post in this
thread?
I will need your ex ntl world email address that is linked to your broadband
account,
Please do not post any address details or account or phone numbers.
Thanks

Further to the above:- it seems they have had so many people telling them it hasn't worked, they no longer want anyone else to report in!
Ho hum! At least it's happened for a few people.Time for a few more choruses of "things can only get better."

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
i might have this wrong but I've just read that the announcement to upgrade edinburgh was wrong and shouldn't have been posted on the evenfaster page kinda funny considering i know several people in edinburgh who have had the upgrade and are on the same ubr as me Also they confirmed earlier in the newsgroup that edinburgh WAS supposed to be upgraded

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
this links page keeps changing information.
http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html.../schedule.html
come on Virgin, get it right, if your going to roll out an area, say so and stick to it, if it is complete, make sure then tell us and move on.
the Edinburgh one (not affecting me) said complete/February now it TBC.
and TBC is very vague give us people who are your customers time lines, dont keep us in the dark
