Yep, he may as well use it to its full potential.
Despite my better judgement I'll probably get one and jailbreak it soon enough.

Re: iPhone Tips (was UK Release info)
According to Engadget the next iPhone could be sold carrier free in Italy...
Now that would set the furry thing amongst the flying rats.

Re: iPhone Tips (was UK Release info)
I know two people who have had the iPhone.
They both sent them back and got other phones with in a month.
I cannot print what they said because I'll get banned.

Thats a shame, I would not take that experience as indicative of the iPhone as a whole which has had a fairly positive reception. Even more so since they announced the enterprise features and the iPhone SDK.

Re: iPhone Tips (was UK Release info)
Some interesting semi-reliable gossip from El Reg....
http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/06...iphone_latest/
Basically its good news and bad news:
Good: Standard 18-month contract price will be £100. £75 19-month contract will be free, and a PAYG price of £269
Bad: Won't be available here until Christmas.

Re: iPhone Tips (was UK Release info)
I think I'd actually be tempted by that 18 month contract price. Far better than what the old-G iPhone launched at.
Any news if the 3G iPhone will have HSDPA too? Or - too good to be true - a decent camera?

Re: iPhone Tips (was UK Release info)
I suppose they are, but with a huge difference in speeds
3G up to 384Kbps
HSDPA protentially up to up to 14.4Mbps, but most handsets can do 3.6Mbps

HSDPA is more like 3.5G. The speeds of normal £G aren't as fast as HSDPA.
That is why not all handset have HSPDA. I think my Samsung U900 can get upto 7.5mb a sec.

Most properly yes for the HSDPA:
http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/06/i...nd-gps-are-go/
Existing iPhone users, we will properly see the iPhone 2.0 update which has support for 3rd party apps and Exchange support among other things.
