Well, I think we only need to look at how VM organise the channels today to tell us how it will be in the future. The current channel pack list is here:
http://shop.virginmedia.com/digital-tv/channels.html
M pack will always closely mirror Freeview. As Freeview will only have 5 HD channels, that's what will be on M too. I reckon Film4 HD will move at some point.
Looking at the list, all the other terrestrial HD channels (BBC/ITV/CH4&5) are in the L pack but no other HD channels beyond that.
I think the L pack will contain all the rest of the terrestrial HD channels when/if launched on cable ie ITV2 HD etc, but everything else will go in XL.
With XL containing all non-premium HD channnels, it's become the HD pack by default. I'd expect most of the SD channels not currently available in the L pack to move there to highlight this fact even more.
You can imagine a future VM advert saying, "if you want HD go XL, with a tivo base." I'm sure some marketing person will be paid a fortune for coming up with such a "original" idea...

BBC ONE HD, BBC HD, ITV 1 HD, 4 HD, 5 HD and Film 4 HD are in the M+ package. I see ITV 2,3,4 HD being on the XL pack when/if launched in november because ITV have put them behind a paywall. Watch HD, Good Food HD and Eden HD will probably go in the XL pack. Dave is on freeview So Dave HD might go on the M+ package The same as Film4 HD did. We should soon know what tv packs the UKTV HD channels will be on.
This below will be updated at the start of october

I wish someone would confirm what is happening. The channel launches in 2 days time.

According to Frank Warren
"It is now all systems go for the channel that can be found on Sky platform channel 456 and very soon on Virgin."
Good Times!
"BoxNation is setting a precedent in that it's the first dedicated boxing channel in Britain. It will be free-to-air before becoming a subscription channel by the end of the year.
It will show eight live events per month plus provide up-to-date news, magazine features and show some of the great old fights from yesteryear for £10 per month."
Bad Times!

That's what I thought at first too however Box Nation will show at least 2 live shows per week, including full under card. £10.00 per month for 8 live shows isn't too bad. I'm a boxing nut who usually shells out £15.00 on PPV every 2 months, and a subscription to SKY Sports so this for me is good value. It means a genuine boxing fan can get access to regular top British and World events without the need to subscribe to SKY Sports.
What is £10 these days anyway? 30 cigarettes. If you smoke, try and smoke 1 less cigarette per day. Over the period of a month you'd have saved enough money to subscribe to Box Nation God I've been reading so much about Box Nation online I've started to adopt Frank Warrens marketing B.S.
