With offers like that i might go to sky myself lol.
As for vm i feel they really need to up their game now i still stand by what i've always said vms biggest disaster was selling of their channels these were a huge bargaining chip for them.

80% off is an awesome offer, was that as a new subscriber or a retentions offer? Either way, happy days for your friend

Well for a start they would of had a bargaining chip to do with BT, also a favourite channel of many BRAVO wouldn't of got closed.
You tell me what deals they had you're the one who works for vm not me.
And i stand by my statement vm should never of sold their channels.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
...those channels were next to worthless for VM unless they were prepared (which they were not) to invest heavily in quality programming for them.
It was a good deal all round for both Sky and VM. VM got access to Sky's HD channels and Sky got the channels so it could use their valuable EPG slots on satellite as Sky wished.
If anyone has read my threads in the news section, you will know that John Malone, ultimate owner of VM, also controls the following channels:
Discovery
Eurosport
QVC
and a shareholding in ITV.
He's up to all sorts of things and you can read my speculation about it all here:

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
The SD picture on Sky and VM is terrible - but they stream HD which is excellent.
They go HD on Sky next month so hopefully VM will go HD too.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
can you keep virgin media phone and broadband and just get sky tv?? getting some fantastic offers from sky too. they're really battering virgin media with their offers now. virgin media need to keep us updated with any treats asap!
rememeber that email sent out as a survey asking what we would like etc like free netflix or on demand movies and sky atlantic etc? it appears our price hikes were to fund the survey and nothing else....

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
I don't think so - you need to provide your Sky viewing card number to authorise streaming (or subscribe to streaming).

I have just done exactly that. £17 per month for the bb (and M TV - apparently it is cheaper do it that way) + line saver. I have got 60% off everything including multi room (I have 3) and hd from sky. Total saving for me is £41 per month (and that was after loyalty discounts from WM). They have given me 1 x 2TB box, 2 x HD+ boxes and 1 x standard HD Box - had to pay the £10 install fee though.
For me because the Virgin multi room was significantly cheaper than Sky it was never worth it but for that price it now is.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015)
I've never subscribed to sky in the past but as i have NowTv i got an email offering me 50% off.
If i was still in the market for pay TV it would be sky. VM really need to up their game to tempt people but with them it seems to be this is the price, take it or leave it.
