Re: NTL Internet access problems - 07 Mar 2006

Anyone experiencing really sluggish browsing - not just this site but all sites?

---------- Post added at 20:38 ---------- Previous post was at 20:31 ----------

Appears to be better but totally lost any access to most sites about 10 minutes ago.

Yes i am, its damn slow to load sites up, and when i'm downloading, its only getting to about 15-20KB/s - I'm on 1MB and used to get about 130KB/s

---------- Post added at 23:29 ---------- Previous post was at 23:25 ----------

I've never ever phoned up NTL to complain about anything, i sometimes keep getting d.c from the internet ever few seconds, every few days since October, why are they so worried about 10MB when they can't even give people on 1MB or 2MB a good service, i was interested in getting 2MB but till they fix all this crap, i won't - you know what i'm sorry but im just so pi*sed at NTL!

you should contact them if your connection isn't optimal, Jack001...

Other than the DNS problem, recently, I have had no issues with my ntl connection.

- I still have a '3 way calling' on my account, that I didn't order, but that is better than the 4 times I was billed for it, last month, which they did credit

ntl confirms it was a suspected DoS attack.

Re: NTL Internet access problems - 07 Mar 2006

I'm having problems with Speeds FULL STOP. Downloading at 9-10KB/s on 1MB Broadband whats going on? What the hell its even slower now at between 5-6KB/s i've tried downloading from different sites wit hthe same speeds. I used to like NTL, they used to be good, they now officially suck!

Re: NTL Internet access problems - 07 Mar 2006

Read all this and wonder why I am still getting the firefox 'Server not responding messages'.
I have connection issues from modem --> router --> and modem --> PC. Is this still an issue?
CS today told me to unplug everything and start it all up again whenever it happens - so thats 10 minutes on the web, 5 minutes powering up, 10 minutes on the web,....

Yes, It's very slow tonight. Intermittent email access too!! MSN keeps on logging off then on again!!

What on earth is going on??

I think NTL is going to have to come clean about the DoS attack and provide some more details!!

Re: NTL Internet access problems - 07 Mar 2006

My actual ntl modem seems to stay on... but my belkin router keeps cutting off and needs resetting. Its becoming very annoying , i have the main PC downstairs with the router connected and upstairs i have a laptop with an internal network card by Asus. I recently purchased a Microsoft wireless laser desktop 6000 and its connected to the Notebook as well as an external monitor as the original one is broken. It seems that whenever i start uploading or downloading that the connection resets itself disconnecting me from whatever i am doing and just wrecking everything in general , i was wondering if the wireless desktop could be causing this or whether it was a coinsidence. So thats two problems in one post
