Of course there is no adverts in the stadia. There never is..It is against the Olympic rules. However I am arguing that if athletes don't represent their countries and therefore won't get the support they currently do things MAY change for the worst..
Now I refuse to discuss this topic in THIS thread any further.

Just before you go Maggy, a little snippet to support your thoughts....

Re: The London 2012 Olympics: Sports discussion
I'm disappointed to see that so many members have chosen to ignore the readily-available OLYMPICS CURRENT AFFAIRS thread and instead clutter up this SPORTS RESULTS thread with bickering.
THE VERY NEXT POST that is off-topic will earn an infraction.

Brillant ride from Jason Kenny and Laura Trott today. So tense but another gold courtesy of Kenny and hopefully a good chance at one for Trott who leads at the end of the day.

And tomorrow we have Queen Victoria going for another gold medal and we also have a good chance in the Keiron as well.

They definitely need to do some gender testing on some of these female shot putters!

That elimination race for the Woman's omnium was great if anyone hasn't seen it.

Definitely my favourite part of the omnium, it's really nervy and exciting!

I am defiantly going to more Velodrome events when the games are over. It's a great sport.

With respect, Chris: This thread isn't called the SPORTS RESULTS thread. It's the SPORTS DISCUSSION thread.
And quoting your opening post:
Quote:
A new thread to discuss sporting matters only. There will be a separate thread to discuss gaffes, traffic jams, opening/closing ceremonies, inept American politicians and Boris.
Current affairs comments in this thread please: http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/20...l#post35457042

That's not exactly unambiguous either. There's bound to be some issues that start off in one thread and end up being better off in the other. I'm not sure if any of my recent posts were in breach of topic, but I actually thought they were better suited to the sports thread. Apologies if I was wrong, but should we really be second-guessing what thread is what, if you're going to hand out infractions for getting it wrong?
