That still does not persuade me to buy one! Windows Mobile all the way!

Re: iPhone Tips (was UK Release info)
Apple will not support a SIM free one. Using another operators SIM other than a registered O2 SIM will void the warranty. Purchase one fae eBay by all means, I'm just giving you a heads up.

Re: iPhone Tips (was UK Release info)
A proper sim free one, not one that's been jail broken.

Re: iPhone Tips (was UK Release info)
Apparently Australia will be sold a sim-free 3G iphone when it comes out in June.
http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/04...ked_3g_iphone/
Also the iphone discount has been confirmed:
http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/04..._iphone_price/
If you jailbreak it, £169 isn't bad for a wifi phone with 8gb storage, even if it is without 3G. Still come june, I think there will be a ton of iphones going even cheaper Can't see any price cuts in the US though. So from tomorrow its £50 cheaper here than in the US. Makes a change.

A proper SIM free one still won't be supported by Apple here in the UK.

Re: iPhone Tips (was UK Release info)
FYI re CPW
Quote:
From Wednesday 16th April, the 8GB iPhone is available on O2 only for £169
with 600 minutes, 500 texts and unlimited internet for £35 a month at The
Carphone Warehouse.
- Ultimate Price Promise means those who've purchased in last 30 days will
automatically receive £100
The Carphone Warehouse today announces it is reducing the
price of the 8GB iPhone from £269 to £169 - and that its Ultimate Price
Promise means that people who have recently purchased an iPhone won't lose
out:
If the price the customer paid for their handset on the same network and tariff is
higher than the price listed in our following month's Buyer's Guide, then we'll
send the customer a credit voucher for the difference.

Re: iPhone Tips (was UK Release info)
I know someone who got one in from America, apparently it's illegal to sell them here as they are locked to one network... So anti-competition laws come into play.
So, they Jailbroke it, or something, a hack to unlock it. And now are stuck with old firmware *giggles*
