If you like them, try the nights dawn trilogy (Reality Dysfunction, Neutronium Alchemist, The Naked God) - excellent read, let down a little by the ending - but well worth the effort - again 5cm thick, if not more...)

Robert Harris, especially Archangel & Fatherland...
Fantastic atmospheric thrillers, Archangel set in post cold war Russia & Fatherland in 1960's Germany after their victory in WW II...
