Indeed and that is why VM did waste some money on upgrades for ITV HD, so that nobody in England and Wales would miss the World Cup.

It does start to put off some of the VM staff on this forum from posting and helping out, when colleagues are being ripped to bits for making a mistake or not knowing as much as others.
Some staff deal with billing and accounts and are not always up to date with things like NGTV rollouts.

I agree with most of what you say DF. However, the fact of the matter is that for a communications company VM's communication to it's customers (and it would appear it's staff) is not as good as it could be. The page that you refer to on the VM website, would any of us really have seen it if it wasn't for Ben posting the link on here? I also appreciate that billing staff wouldn't know about NGTV, but it is seriously concerning that DTV support on the communinty forum don't understand it for me. The fact of the matter is I dread having to phone VM nowadays as I know that I will come off the phone frustrated for the rest of the day, and believe me I am generally a very calm person! I try to use the email forms on the website when I can to avoid these calls, but in my experience nobody seems to answer these now.
As always I thank the likes of yourself, Ben and Spiderplant for keeping us up to date in an unofficial capacity. Without you guys we wouldn't have a clue what was going on

I have itvHD and not been upgraded yet so the footy thing is ok as far as i'm aware, i agree completely with your post and think it needs to be put into perspective, it's only a few HD channels we have missing until it's upgraded and we have the SD versions of them until then.

Totally understand what you are saying and we we apreciate that some of you know more than others,Its clear that its the management that are at fault and they are as bad communicating with there staff as they are customers,If the information isn`t passed on to yourselves how are you supposed to relay back to us.This as been my biggest complaint with VM lack of communication and really should have been addressed and dealt with by now,Reagarding the HD Channels as stated in previous post is not the wait that is annoying me and i think most. But the complete lack of information and if it wasn`t for yourself and other members of VM staff sharing what you can on forums we would know nothing,I personally thank you for that and your collegues and hope you will continue to do so.
What i can`t understand is why some of the programs on the new HD Channels where not put onto VOD for a least us waiting could see them,I personally would have been happy and at least shown VM where sorry about the situation but were seen to be doing something to satisfy people that are waiting for the upgrade.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010)
Probably because they don't have the rights for the VoD content. Heck even on Living Player Supernatural appears in SD only.

I'm not sure it can be considered a waste of money at all and they didn't do it just to ensure people didn't miss the world cup in HD. The world cup in HD is a big selling point and understandably VM didn't want to take the risk of losing out to Sky in the run up especially as HD on VM is becoming more and more a selling point. Quite simply it would have made a mockery of their HD credentials.
It's a business decision fair and square to ensure that existing customers don't consider leaving to go to Sky and new customers consider VM if they are interested in the World Cup in HD.

I was talking from a technical point of view, not from a business view... money has been spent upgrading some soon to be defunct headends, if it wasn't for the World Cup, I don't think they would have done that.
