Whoever updated the site to add the new information forgot to edit the existing text detailing the EPL/SPL coverage, which was written when the only confirmed carrier was Sky.

That's also how i read it, the website yesterday only had the top two EPL and SPL boxes on it.
I would imagine that the website is driven by a database of sorts and so may not be 100% clear when updating information on the server side.
The extra football boxes were added some point this afternoon, after the Virgin deal was announced by Virgin (ESPN America announced this deal a few days ago) and have included the Virgin information.
Never know a forum to get their knickers in so much of twist.

Stuff tv thinks we are getting premier football in HD. I dont know if that counts for anything though.
Edit: and from broadcast now:- Virgin Media is to carry ESPN’s standard and HD channels in time for the upcoming Premier League season. ESPN and ESPN HD, which will screen 46 Premier League matches in the 2009-10 season, will be made available at no extra cost to XL customers, along with ESPN Classic

Wouldn't it be funny if sky blocked the HD premier league games to virgin as part of an agreement to provide the HD coverage for ESPN

Well Mobes you certainly set the cat among the pigeons with that eagle eyed post
As I see it everything on VM's sites indicates we'll have the EPL and SPL in HD, so I'm pretty confident, I honestly can't see VM taking on a HD sports channel that doesn't let its own viewers watch the best content of the channel in HD.
If that were the case I'm sure to avoid flak they would've just signed the SD version, having said that I'll be mighty pleased when either Ben or Media Boy allay our fears tomorrow with a good news post.

I found those within a couple of seconds of googling it. Why did none of us think to do that earlier?
Of course those sources could be reading to much into the VM press release as well.
I doubt it though.
