i hadnt seen the previous post at the point of my posting
and i have not had the letter so was in the dark
seems a fair offer but the way im reading the situation based on limited info available here ... looks like the calls to customers have slowed if not stopped and there will be another wave after March 20th for the raffle winners
does the raffle include all those who have already got tivo booked & paid for or is it for those not yet contacted ... either way could be seen as unfair by one group or the other

BREAKING NEWS
VM have spent 3.2 million pounds trawling the forums and interweb to find out which subscribers are the biggest trouble makers / complainers.
They have used the same group (Anonymous) who haked Mastercard etc to obtain info that will lead to identifying who we are....
The plan is to knobble VOD and BB at awkward times and slow rollout to these "agent provocators" as a form of punishment.....
A VM spokeman when asked if the money could have been better spent on free TiVo's for their best customers replied "Yes I suppose so but this is so much more fun"
Thats it I am now in full Toy / Pram / tossing mode

Well, to be honest I'm not sure. I've been a customer since the Cable & Wireless days, and over the years I've upgraded my package quite a few times and can't remember when the last time was.
Realistically it makes no difference to me as I am happy with the service (especially as they are giving me a TiVo for free for life ), and have no intention of leaving unless something changes drastically!
Having my TiVo installed tomorrow as well, hope he/she comes to me first.

Thanks Stuart, sorry new to this site.. just getting used to it
So sounds as if the odds of getting a prize in this raffle are quite slim, anyone want to guess the odds?

with approx 1500-2000 boxes at large or booked already and 20000+ who registered ...
makes it 1000 in 20000+ .... or i believe that makes it 1 in 20+ ???? not a betting man so dont know working out odds that quickly

However the Additional box cost should go up - as you will still have HD boxes on the account, which is the reason it's reduced.

Yes message was downloaded to the box stating service will end June 1st.
Loads of people have contacted Tivo saying please change your mind or tell us how we can receive EPG data some other way etc.
All they have replied with is move to Virgin and you will be happy again. Lots of people not in cabelled areas or not wanting XL TV etc.
They have upset quite a lot of very loyal long standing customers it seems.
There was the option to purchase a lifetime sub for £200 rather than the £10 a month also. I have the lifetime sub but basically in the T&C's it can be ended within 30 days of notice from Tivo.
I've had it for 9 years so had my money's worth but does seem a shame to end their service just because they are now tied in with Virgin.

I guess it would still cost TiVo to carry on supporting the S1 TiVo's. I understand if you are not in a cabled area then it's a problem if you want to carry on using a S1 box.
I suppose TiVo could have stopped the service a good few years ago now after their ill-fated relationship with Sky.
