TiVo has always favoured higher channel numbers for WishLists, so I'm not surprised it's the same for SeriesLink+. Just one of those things.
The "Audio Description" channels are only copies of the London versions anyway, so it's not of any consequence.

Re: Major TiVo update started about 3:20am.
Since the update I have found that there are times where it won't allow me to set a recording from the EPG, or even delete a recording!!!

Also the order has been totally messed up, with big chunks moved to different places. Fortunately I take regular backups of wishlists/series links and recordings, so I can see exactly what is missing.

Regarding the series links moving priority on their own I have seen this myself as have others on the VM forum. Haven't seen any reports of SL's going missing whilst they were being migrated to the new format though.

I don't think it does delete the series link. I set a single channel series link for a programme on ITV4 HD then attempted to set a single channel series link for the same programme on ITV HD and found that it annoyingly converted it to an all channels series link. I say annoyingly because it is a series link for the "Formula E" and it now means that I now also get loads of unwanted recordings from Eurosport and BT Sport! No matter what I do I cannot set two single channel series link for the "Formula E" (one on ITV and another for ITV4) - it always converts the existing SL to an all channels SL.

That happens with the existing Tivo software. It's not a problem the new update has caused.
If a programme won't record from the EPG, it is probably because you have a clash with other programmes you have set. However, it may have set your recording to record at a different time.
I have noticed that on certain screens, the cancel option does not work. No confirmation of your request is asked for and the original command to record remains in place.

The incidents I'm talking about are where no recording is set at all and a message advising you to try later is given.
I've noticed that about the cancel option too OB.
Good to know it's not the software update though.

I've certainly never received the 'try later' response, except where the on demand has been busy. Curious...

It's a similar message that comes up, with the same audio 'dong'.
I've also noticed that the system is crashing more often, normally when trying to play a recording (but it doesn't require a reboot).
What happens is that a much deeper 'dong' is heard and 'My shows' is replaced by the home screen, meaning that one has to toggle back to 'My shows'.

Re: Major TiVo update started about 3:20am.
Since the update. my Tivo refuses to record any planned recordings when in standyby. I have o keep the power on all the time. It is also reported in the Virginmedia community forum.

I see "the moderators" are now telling everyone the fix for slow Tivos is:
"Help and Settings > Clear or reset TiVo box > Clear thumb ratings and suggestions > enter pin > press thumbs down 3 times and then LastCh."
I know a customer made this suggestion initially but to me it sounds like snake oil that might have a very short lived temporary small affect (like rebooting), that Virgin Media have jumped on. I imagine people reporting this having worked, are back to square one after a day or two. So has anyone tried and can confirm if it is still working after several days? As it is, the performance of my Tivo since the update has been diabolical.

A potential fix is currently being tested internally, and will be deployed if/when that testing is successful.

They may have had a similar fault, but they definitely didn't have this one. It is in VM-specific software.

Just because it has the same symptoms, it does not mean it's the same bug.

I've always thought that the official VM forum , while a useful resource, would toe the line with regard to talking about faults.

I am not running the updated software on my Tivo, but I had a slow Tivo until I cleared my thumb ratings a few weeks ago, and the Tivo is still a lot faster than it was. Having said that, I have a three year old and a 19month old in the house, both of whom love hitting the big colourful buttons on the Tivo remote, so the Tivo probably did have thumbs up or thumbs down ratings on thousands of programmes.

So it's purely Virgin Media's responsibility then. Thanks, I add that to my report. You would think they would have been aware enough to test thoroughly especially given previous problems and when the problem was already widely reported whilst the roll-out continued.

Re: Major TiVo update started about 3:20am.
My box rebooted itself at about 3am this morning, not too long after I'd rebooted it myself to try and speed it up (it was so bad that the spinning purple circle stopped spinning when trying to access 'My Shows' to watch something!)
Not sure if this was a further minor update or not.
Curiously, Sky now seem to be copying this update:

There is also a continue tab added to the planner which shows all unfinished shows. Also pressing settings now brings up 8 screens including a new radio section.
Anyone else got this update? I dint even know there was a new update due.

What's a Sky set top box update got to do with a VM TiVo set top box update ?

No updates last night.
There's something not quite right with your box. Can you try a "Clear Programme Info and Planned Recs" to rebuild the database? It'll take a couple of hours so don't do it when you've got recordings scheduled in the near future.
