Sky overestimate the prices that they believe they can get for their channels and remember it was Sky feeling the pain when it came to the Sky Basics fiasco as when the deal was eventually done Sky had to back down on the money they got from Virgin quite a bit.
On the issue of Disney and Universal HD l am sure they will come soon to the Virgin platform and you have to remember it takes longer for channels to come to Virgin because both companies have to agree a price.

Why are you blaming Virgin as for all we know ESPN could be asking a silly price for this channel and remember your current ESPN channels are on the XL pack and with Sky you have to pay a extra £9 to have ESPN on top of your Sky Sports sub.

I agree with a lot you are saying,I have both products and that is due to great discount deals. But we are the customers who pay in order for both these companies to keep going.I just wish both companies could work to together better and supply all content on both formats then we could decide which to opt with like utility companies.
Sadly that looks like it will never happen

And not being bias but Sky are a very difficult and greedy company to deal with in negotiations as they always seem to want one over on Virgin and l cannot see their attitude changing any time soon.

I just wish they would deliver some new content, it is becoming rather boring on here for us non TiVo users.

I have a feeling that's probably the case, considering how few providers across Europe are carrying the HD channel.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. III.
Does anyone know what the viewing figures for ESPN America are on Virgin? Could it be the channel doesn't attract enough viewing figures to justify Virgin shelling out more to land the HD variant?
For the sake of our American sports fans I hope it does come soon however I'm really beginning to doubt it. Let's wait and see if ESPN 2 and ESPN News launches in the next 8 to 10 weeks. If these channels launch then a new carriage deal will be needed, which might signal the arrival to ESPN America HD.

I have read Tivo can be loaded onto my Cisco VHD box so we shall see. Also no red button and reminders are a bit of a turn off. I also like to give new Tech time to bed in as I have been caught out in the past with teething problems. As I have seen from here and other forums I was not wrong in staying clear.
