Re: The Euro 2008 thread
What about those Turks, not good for the old blood pressure but they just will not lie down. Not sure how many players they will have left for the next game.
So, two group winners out already, are you sweating Holland.
Jim.

Netherlands v Russia
So on to tonight's game… Netherlands v Russia. Got a nice ring to it hasn't it? The best team of Euro 2008 so far against the most improved. Guus Hiddink pits his wits against his countrymen. A repeat of the 1988 final. I'm so excited, I feel a bit sick.
Who do you reckon will win
Holland or Russia

What's wrong with just discussing this here:

Unless you're offering odds/a prize for whoever guesses right?

Re: The Euro 2008 thread
I've merged the 2 threads as there's absolutely no reason to have both running. Please stop creating random threads.

Re: The Euro 2008 thread
Estimated to be over 150,000 Dutch supporters in Basle tonight.
Win or lose, they will not leave the city in the state the Glasgow morons left Manchester a few weeks ago.
I couldn't find this thread at first, how come its been moved to Lifestyle instead of Sports.

Well my punditry is proving pretty accurate up to now, if I was Spain I would be getting very worried.
Russia absolutely murdered Holland tonight, any other result would have been a complete travesty.
PS.Russ, I think you should move this thread back to 'Sports'.

True indeed. I would have thought that v.Basten would have realised at half time that Ruud plowing a lone furrow in the centre proved to be totally ineffective and ultimately he paid the price. Hopefully the russkies will get a good tonking in the semis.

Re: The Euro 2008 thread
Good decision by the ref, after talking the assistant, to change his mind over the second yellow card.
Though Holland were dire...

Re: The Euro 2008 thread
Russia were better though. The genius of Hiddink, or did Holland just didn't hit the form they managed against Italy and France? I'm gutted either way. Still proud to wear the shirt though.

Agreed, even if it might have been because he thought the ball had gone out of play which I don't think it had, the Russian defender hardly brushed the Dutch player. Its bad enough for Kolodin that he misses the next game.

Re: The Euro 2008 thread
VG Russian display tonight. It may be because there are no British Isles reps but if Carlsberg did International football tournaments.....
Is it because I'm neutral (apart from the odd flutter) or has this tournie been stupendous?
