Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Wenger cannot take 100% of the blame, what about the Board pushing for Wenger to buy players capable of challenging for the title? What about the players themselves? I've always found Walcott to be selfish and ignorant to instructions from managers. Didn't Capello say he dropped Theo once because he refused to listen to instructions on how to play?
I do think though that Wenger has gone as far as he can now at the Emirates. Not sure Guardiola is the right man though, I think we (lapsing back into my Arsenal fan here) need someone more like Ferguson or Redknapp. Someone who can get the best out of players. Before their recent loss of form, I would have suggested Alan Pardew for the job.

Wengers got a decent budget to work with. In 2008 we were short of a player or two. Wenger insisted on not buying and continued with his own vision. We're now in a state of decline. Players are not performing and our stature has downgraded. The attitude has changed. Wenger doesn't lay into players, this has been confirmed even by the greats of yesterday. Whether or not Theo listens or not isn't exactly a big deal. Theres loads of players that don't listen at Arsenal. Look at the amount of players not playing but taking home a wage.

Pep does get the best out of players. Remember Barca needed a fine tuning before he went in. He done it. Yes he spent a vast amount and had incredibly gifted players to work with but don't take away the fact he had to work it, he had to make great things happen. Alan Pardew? no thanks. Hes suited to Newcastle.

And yet Arsenal are still above high spending Liverpool. Maybe a sign changing manager every season isn't a good idea. I wonder where Liverpool would be had they stood by Rafa? Higher I think as he took the fall for failing at a higher level and a succession of managers since haven't taken them higher. This is the problem with the instant fix idea that infests football fans.
I was at the game today. Obviously not great. I am not sure if the problem is a striker though, we didn't create many clear cut chances. The players are going though the same kind of dip as we saw last season.
Arsenal fans need to show more respect to Wenger. One guy shouting horrible things at him and told him to (bad word) off. Thankfully he was booed by those around him but that didn't extend to the players. Booing mid match isn't going to help anyone.

Under Rafa Liverpool wasted an incredible amount of money. Replacing a manager with someone of higher calibre is a step forward. I say no to replacing Wenger with Adams, Moyes, Pardew but I say yes to replacing Wenger with Pep.
