Has the asking price for Newcastle changed?

£230 million I reckon. That's with his loan on top.

Looks like Liverpool are going to pay to bring Divock Origi back from his loan in January. He'll fit in well with his current scoring record...

The milking of Rangers started a long time ago, the whole saga stinks, and I very much doubt the current batch of arrests and court cases will be the last.
If they don't get promoted this season, and I personally think they won't, it'll be interesting to see if the most incompetent football administrators in the world redesign the leagues to bring them up.

I read that they couldn't actually afford to pay Ally off. Pretty dire situation to be in that's got Ashley licking his lips. Ashley will bail rangers out just like he did to Newcastle, problem being it's much cheaper to balance Rangers and from a personal experience his intentions are far from pleasing or winning over fans. Once he has control of the club you've pretty much surrendered it. I mean if Ashley ran Rangers like Newcastle and turned profit then there's little to stop Rangers becoming the equal dominant force in Scottish football again but they'll be tagging a giant sports direct billboard beside them at all times. Ashley is looking for a club that can 1) be had easily. 2) Win silverware without huge investment, 3) can guarantee European football and thus European advertising.
Newcastle can't offer that given the money in England is massively different to that in the SPL. Rangers could win the league with the money he's given Newcastle.
That's my guess on the whole matter.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
Great game at OT yesterday, some nicely worked goals, Jones and Mc Nair getting in each other's way all the time led to the usual chaos at the back. The Toon offered very little going forward though thankfully.
A terrific atmosphere, ground packed out with both sets of fans giving it some.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
Colin's gone. I don't suppose you can defend like we did yesterday, then come out afterwards and say our next opponents will be looking forward to playing us and expect to keep your job! Probably the right decision but the timing, before a massive game at QPR tomorrow and three days before the transfer window, leaves a bit to be desired.

And these clubs who get rid of their managers suddenly think a miracle is going to delivered.

I was about to say it depends if Palace get Pulis! Forget from where he left.

My mum called him a name that I cannot repeat here. But as much as I hold a grudge against Arsenal, I think the QPR player who caused Giroud to react like that should have been sent off.

Not for us. Since the current board took over in 2010 George Burley was sacked at Christmas after we looked headed for League 1, and we survived. Then Dougie Freedman left for Bolton and Ian Holloway took us up. Last year Ian Holloway left after we were mauled at home by Fulham, Pulis kept us up, ruining your title charge in the process, whilst Fulham were relegated. I know all the arguments about being able to build in the long term but for a lot of clubs that's pie in the sky.
The key is bringing in the right replacement. Pulis was perfect, Warnock wasn't so I'm 50/50 on whether the board will get it right, but the chairman's comments in the wake of this latest sacking have made it clear that Warnock had lost the players.
Shame, but he was out of his depth. Any fool can stick 3 past Liverpool's defence, but Burnley showed how to play against Southampton, and it's a way we have the players for, as we showed last season. Conceding the sort of goals we did yesterday in a game that this crop of players is capable of getting something from is pretty unforgivable. We might still go down, but it is still the right decision.

Stupid. Hopefully he gets a club fine for the games he cannot play. I wonder if he wanted New Years Eve off it was so stupid. That said they were having little niggles at him throughout the game and he just lost it so my sympathy for them is limited as well.
