Just heard my friends sister was taken into hospital inTurkey, She is quite seriously ill and to make things worse she was insured with her Bank, but she forgot to update her circumstances that she was now 70" , They are now not interested , If she has to come home in Air ambulance she is told it will cost £20,000 , what a nightmare for them,

Mr Dr's surgery
I got my x-ray results all clear, my blood test said my cholesterol is high, but nothing about the cough.
So I try and book an appointment, but oh no, you have to phone in on the day and book at 8am, I have phoned and got through at 8:01am and been told no booking left for the day.
So the Dr has to call me, before I can even consider getting an appointment .
Time to move elsewhere.

If the surgery is near your house, then get to the doors for 8 and get one before a phone is even answered.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Our Dr has a sit and wait surgery 08-11 mon/fri, phones answered @08.30.
Needed an appointment same day ended up at Dr surgery 07.30 and managed to get an app 08.10.
So to me is better to visit than try and arrange an app over phone!

Yes horrible but it might not necessarily be sufficient reason for them to avoid any liability whatsoever. Of course it may well be that she'll need to take it up with the ombudsman and might have to settle for some form of reduced payment if the worst comes to the worst, which it may well not. Fingers crossed eh?

If her policy has just rolled over from year to year then I could understand the insurers refusing to pay out if she had failed to update any medical conditions but surely they already held her date of birth so the fact that she is now 70 shouldn't be classed as an undeclared change of circumstances.
I just hope that she can get home soon, all the worry can't be helping.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Hope your sore throat is better now, Weenie, My friends sister maybe home on Monday by air ambulance, she had a form of cancer years ago and it has come back in her lung, Her insurance had stopped in June as she was 70'. Not sure if she had confermation about it and she forgot, or if she never read the small print, but it is costing over £20'000' or more and she has to pay, , I am sure the family will help her out if she is low on funds. Her daughter is in the Police Force so I dare she she will look into all the clauses,
