This does assume BT have a) some sense and b) are genuine that their move into sport is to sell their broadband. :-)

Excellent point, I just moved back from sky this June so I was paying £10.00 for espn last season. If vm bundle bt sport in with XL I'd be positively ecstatic.

VM were able to offer ESPN has part of the XL TV package due to the way they did things. They won't be able to do that again. ESPN was a tenner on Sky, so from their customers viewpoint, they're only paying a few pound more.
As always, no need to complain - just don't buy if it doesn't suit in terms of product or price.

but remember bt bill sky customers directly for bt sport VM wont allow that if deal done it most like it be wholesale price agreed which mean vm can put it in a pack

And if that's the case, maybe it can be even partly subsidised as ESPN was?

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 3.
Hope it happens but if BT goes into XL it surely undermines their objective of taking customers for broadband by using sport...

Of course, but then BT must have had a figure in mind for the number of new BB customers taking their sports offer. Maybe they've surpassed that number and are looking to increase income through regular wholesale subs. If that's the right term...

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 3.
They have to put something in the XL package to compensate ESPN so if not BT sport then at least a discount.

That makes sense but the new customer figure was reported as 23k!

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 3.
and also remember the bt shareholders will want some return on the money they spent on the sports channel so it make sence doing a deal with VM to get more money
