Re: NTL offering package to challenge talk talk
I rang customer relations on 0800 0529403 opt 2 ( as given in an earlier post), told them that I had been looking at other providers Talk Talk and said NTL didn't look competitive, was told that they have a new package to match, BB & free calls for £20.99 with £20 off TV for 6 mths.........will be checking my bills..
Must admit the guy was very helpful and offered the deal immediately

ntl can't win can they? They get critisized 3 seconds after CPW/TT announce their new package for not being able to offer similar. When they do have an offer to match (or IMO beat) CPW/TT, they're branded stupid.
Brilliant. Well done you guys. Top notch.

Re: NTL offering package to challenge talk talk
Well it had to happen didn't it.... My bill just came and guess what?
No change !!
On the phone to them right now, first CS, then Retentions, finally Customer Relations, no change was made to my bill, nice lady on the other end, sorting it all out now, with profuse apologies.
Ok bill readjusted, and deal done.
People, check your bills !!! (and get the name and ext number of the person you speak to).

Why would any company give someone a new offer whilst they were still under contract. It doesn't make sense - the customer surely doesn't/shouldn't have any bargaining power. Also, please dont address me as 'you guys' or the whole thread like we're one person, that was my first post in this thread. OK?

I said 'you guys', referring to all the people that did slate ntl for not offering a similar package. They know who they are (you included). Chill out.

Well, why refer to what other people have said in your response to MY quote as if that is relevent to my argument? Like I said, the fact that people have criticised NTL previously for, according to you, opposing reasons, had nothing to do with what I said and what you, subsequently quoted back.
Also, I didn't even comment on what the package WAS or how good/bad it was compared to other packages/offers, I only brought up the subject of contract.
One more thing, please don't tell me to 'chill out', I'm perfectly calm. I was just replying to your sarcastic post in, what I thought was, an appropriate manner.

I'd feel a bit cheeky ringing them back to try and get another deal so soon after my last one.

UPDATE: To NTLHell with it! I just phoned them to cancle... got put through to retentions and am now paying £24.49 a month for 10mb + phone line + talk unlimited local & mobile. I was paying £49.49 for this, oh and its for a full year... but by then, there should be even better, cheaper deals available. The £25 a month saving will pay for my o2 contract mobile phone! Jobs a good'n.

I think you ought to double check that.
I'd be very surprised if you got mobile calls included.

I assume you got tv in with your phone so how do they work it out do they just refund the phone only to your bill?
