Re: [Updated] Theresa May set to become PM
PMQs will be weird on Wednesday. Pretty much a goodbye session for Cameron.

Re: [Updated] Theresa May set to become PM
Well don't let the door hit either of their backsides on the way out not going to miss either of them but I'll avoid the news as no doubt people will be gushing about what a great pm Cameron has been and what a nice chap he is I just don't have the gag reflex I once did.
Ignition I find it really hard to take you seriously sometimes your on here now saying Cameron's deal with the EU wasn't that bad but before you were utterly slating it and dismissing it as nothing but then not so long ago you were a leaver now your a remainer bit hard to know exactly what your position is.

Re: [Updated] Theresa May set to become PM
Cameron did ok considering the difficulties of 2008 and having to be in a coalition. Managed the first term quite well and even increased his majority, not a small achievement. He has undermined that by the Scottish and EU referendums, probably far too confident in his ability to control things.
Politicians always have mixed records. No one leaves office undamaged by some scandal or another and few bow out on top.
The biggest irony here is that a year ago he won an election largely based on a platform of stability in contrast to the 'chaos' they had convinced the electorate that Miliband represented.
I don't mind Cameron though. I like pragmatic and controlled politicians as opposed to the populism that people like Corbyn and Leadsom represent.

It'll be interesting to see who TM chooses.

You do realise we don't have any civil servants with experience in things like trade deals don't you? Reason being is because we've let the EU deal with all that for years, so if you know anyone with the traits you describe you'd better let Mrs May know ASAP otherwise we might only be left with magic beans at the end of negotiations

He will then face MPs in the regular Wednesday session of Prime Minister's Questions for the last time, which is likely to end with applause from MPs, like Tony Blair's last PMQs in 2007.
Mr Cameron will then head to Buckingham Palace to see the Queen in his final act as Prime Minister - after a tearful exit from No 10 with his family, no doubt - before Mrs May makes the same journey and triumphantly arrives in Downing Street
|
So on Thursday morning we will have a new PM

Still can't see all that happening today, tomorrow, or the next day. Dave hasn't even packed yet and iirc the queen is on holiday, we know she doesn't like being disturbed on her hols from when Diana died.
Oh yes, link to Mrs May, article 50 and next year

Well it's just been on the news that it's all set for tomorrow ,he's out .The biggest worry for the Camerons (according to the BBC) is where are they going to live ? he is actually renting his own house out so hasn't actually got anywhere to go .Maybe some form of emergency accommodation from Westminster council is in order ,he is unemployed now so Housing Benefit could pay minus the spare room tax of course .....

Poor Dave, it's not like he's even got any friends he can stay with or friends full stop actually judging by the reaction he got at the tennis the other day, reminded me of when Gideon got booed at the Olympics, happy days

Shouldn't be a problem as I understand that, in addition to his Notting Hill property that he has let for several years since he's been at No 10, he also owns a substantial cotswold stone property near Chipping Norton.

Must be weird to have the PM as your landlord. Bet it's difficult getting him on the phone.

Ideally before article 50 is invoked we'll know what we want and have vague idea of how we'll get it. As far as I am concerned the actual process after article 50 should be a formality as much as is possible. You shouldn't set off a controlled explosion before you know how you're getting out of the building.
