You really needed to ask that question??
It's standard fare for insecure Arse fans to display their displeasure and opposing teams' star players in that way....

BTW I've been aware of this for 24 hrs and if anything I'm more ****ed than when I heard. We all wanted Pearce, but Doughty hates him, of the field Dave Jones or Anghel Iordanescu would both be better than hoofer ginge.

Didn't Megson get West Brom promoted twice in 3 seasons? Yeah, he may not have the ability to manage in the Premiership, but surely he's proved himself at Championship / First Division level?
Anyway, it could have been worse - you could have got Peter Reid

Re: [Merged] Football talk
My problem is Megson's style of play and his attitude, the guy could fight nitrogen...

Re: [Merged] Football talk
I think he is a good appointment, but as the saying goes the proof is in the results he gets, I think all forest supporters should get behind the new manager and give him a chance. Rather than throwing your rattle out of the pram and saying we want someone else...TOUGH you have him deal with it

Yeah, but his style of play has been proven to work at that level - it may not be pretty but it has tended to get results.
I was the same when Villa took O'Leary on as manager - didn't like the way he got the team to play, thought he was a chequebook manager and all that, but he turned Villa round and got us to 6th in the Premiership last season.
Personally, I think that you could do a lot worse than Megson and, who knows, maybe he'll do a Dowie for you (great bouncebackability )

Re: [Merged] Football talk
Well I understand what you guys are saying but I can't see anything else.
The opinion amongst Forest fans is kinda 50:50 as to whether he's a good choice or not.
Like I said the emotional attachment to Psycho won't go away- it was the same when Hart was fired and Kinnear was brought in.
Can't believe he's got rid of Mick Harford though, the guy has been the personification of dignity and respect all the time he's been caretaker, and he is after all an excellent coach.
Only time will tell but I don't think this is a good move.

Re: [Merged] Football talk
Here is an interesting one, Andy Liddell admitted after the game that he was offside when he scored against Villa.

How come we are not reading articles criticising Liddell for not telling the ref that he was offside? Where are the people calling him a cheat for not admitting it?

Well, I think he's a cheat
In fairness, it's very well to come out and say these things, but it smacks a bit of Beckham and his 'I'm clever 'cos I got myself booked' rubbish.
Andy Liddell might say that he was blatantly offside but, even after the replays, it was difficult to see that the ball came off a Sheffield United player and not one of ours, so it must have been difficult in the spur of the moment for the linesman. As for the comment about Sorenson well, that's nothing new - a goalkeeper should stop every shot.
I just think he's trying to rub salt into the wounds of the Villa fans - with a bit of luck, he'll get done for his comments (although there's no particular reason why he should).
I just think that he should engage his brain before speaking - if they play Villa again at some point in the future, he'll probably start moaning if he gets booed every time he touches the ball.
