Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season

I hope that ManU can send West Ham down prefer Sheffield and Wigan above the Hammers.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season

Well the Hammers survive by the skin of their teeth.

Going to be interesting to see what legal action happens now on the part of the relegated teams. These things can takes ages if the courts are ultimately involved though so who knows what'll happen but if it drags into next season........

I am not sure of all the clubs who are suing except Wigan, who now will probably retract their claim as they are now safe.

Charlton and Watford were down anyway, so that only leaves Sheffield United.

I noticed in an interview by Sky that Warnock, when prompted, had a little dig at Ferguson for fielding an under strength side. Of course it was complete and utter drivel from someone whose team had just been relegated.

I can only add that if Sheffield United were good enough for the premiership, they wouldn't have been in the position they were in, at 3pm this afternoon.

Tough luck Mr Warnock !!!!

There won't be a court case, the other three can't sue the premier league as they are still members and Sheff Utd can't sue because the Premier league isn't a public body, precedent was set with this not so long ago with the Jockey club, according to a sports lawyer, on the radio earlier they may have a chance under European law if the Premier league is classed as something called a "quasi body" but that all takes time, years ago Stevenage Borough won an appeal against being refused entry to the Football league, however because the case had dragged on so long their entry was still denied.

I am not going to say it's a pity Wigan stayed up but Dave Whelan is an @rse, why is he discussing details of court action publicly and if he must at least he could get the facts right, surely his lawyer must have told him details of the case, for a start he keeps on saying that Tevez is an illegal player, when it is in fact one paragraph amongst pages of his contract that is illegal and why is it that the old fool has started telling people that the league opened the transfer window for him to resign, surely he must know that an unattached player can be signed at anytime, pity if he didn't, Carlos could have been playing for Wigan

Yes, heard that same interview. If anything is going to happen it'll need to happen quickly but this morning apparently 6 clubs are considering pursuing action. Of course any action taken which involved a significant points deduction will be appealed by West Ham which will further delay matters.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season

well i'm glad West Ham stayed up and they did it on the pitch.. the table shows them in 15th so that should be it really.. i think there have been things in the past like the Alan Sugar case where the problem was caused by the old board of the club, hence Spurs never lost any points

not very impressed by us on Sunday.. sure we had a lot of the ball but we didn't really have that many shots on target.. we kept wanting to take too many passes before putting it in the net instead of shooting when we had the chance from the edge of the box

roll on the cup final on Sat

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season

IMHO i think they have made a mistake getting rid of pearce

he's a good manager and puts his heart and soul into the job. Looking at who theplayers are there isn't much to work with there and so it's no wonder they are down the bottom.. without pearce they could have been worse off and unless they invest alot in the team whoever takes over won't do any better
