We didn't even make it in the Championship - but who mentioned Forest?
Since you started...
|
Well you did actually when you posted that post.
|
Not at all - I was commenting on U*d and Chelsea's relative performances!
|
You say that now...
Like I said in my post, just commenting on the relative success of Forest and Utd in qualifying for this years competition

Were you at the same level when you won the EC?

So if they walk off with the PL 9 years in 10 and 3 EC wins it will never eclipse Utd? So what if they've spent it still needs to be used correctly, Blackburn and Newcastle are prime examples of this.

Barca - Chelski was a bit boring imo.
The best team won though...

i dont think they will be that prolific, in my view if it happens it will be purely because of money that has been spent, granted man utd had a recent spending spree, but if you look at the years we won cups most of our players were homegrown.

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
Man U made their history with winning championships and cups. . then had the money to spend. Chelsea on other hand are buying their history with dirty russian money !
People hate utd fair play to them, but chelsea are just ruining the english game for everyone thats being said as Man U fan and a football fan in general.

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
I hate chelsea now alongside man united, they get outplayed nearly every game and try to nick victories, get in way of shots to defend and play brutal which they get away with in the premiership but got found out in the CL. With all the money spent they should be able to match barcelona for passing ability but they cant and deservedly lost. The reason why the game was dissapointing is because chelsea the team who was behind in the tie didnt play open enough. We were still treated to some ronaldinho brilliance tho.

Congrats to Arsenal on reaching the next stage of the Champions League Cup.
Well, someone had to say it
The only British side left in the competition.
Am I right in thinking that the only home grown talent on show tonight at Highbury was Beckham ?

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
Well, it's not like they've got anything else to play for is there?
And I suppose the thought of losing their star player was enough to motivate them tonight. Still, Arsenal champions of Europe this season? I don't see it...

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
beckham was poor if he plays like that in the wc it doesnt bode well.
his greatest skill was crossing and passing both which were poor.

Really Arsene? Let's see - since 31st December Arsenal have played 16 games, won 7, drawn 4 and lost 5.
Grown from what exactly?
