Re: The iPhone thread
Apple Stores are probably sick of people taking the P, ringing up and asking for directions to the shop

If like myself you don't go outside the UK then it won't make difference which setting you have it on.

So had better have it off then

I think when Microsoft first did their maps they were also wrong in places. Mind you I would love it if Apple did move Luton next to Exeter and we could have open fields were Luton was

Re: The iPhone thread
Despite the Apple Maps issues is it worth updating to ios6? I've just invested in one of these 3rd gen iPads (I were expectin' an iPatch but the scabby land lubbers gave me one of these isntead, arrr!)
It has 5.1 loaded at the moment so not sure whether or not to do the software update.

Re: The iPhone thread
Everytime I've been to Luton I have wished I was somewhere else so it's really not a problem!

Yes, IMO it's worth it (unless you *need* the features of Google Maps that Apple Maps doesn't have).
Siri is vastly improved, and could actually be considered very useful now, instead of just a gimmick as it was when first released on the iPhone 4S.
Safari & Mail have been improved, and the Facebook integration is handy if you like that sort of thing.
One other thing to consider, as well as the Maps, is that iOS 6 does not contain the YouTube app present in all previous versions of iOS.
That is not such an issue for the iPhone, as Google has already released a separate YouTube app... one that is vastly superior to the now-removed in-built app.
But the iPad version is not ready yet, so if you want to use YouTube on the iPad you'll need to use the website instead. Still, using YouTube via the browser is generally a hell of a lot better than the crappy old Apple-controlled YouTube app anyway.
My wife relies on Google Maps a lot, so is holding off on iOS 6 for now on her iPhone and iPad. Me? I'm not fussed about it. I agree that Apple Maps is inferior to Google Maps, but it's not a deal-breaker for me.

Re: The iPhone thread
An iPhone user walks into a bar, or it could be a hotel, or a field. He's not too sure
