Latest estimated date.....my area's original estimated date was April to July 2012. Then changed August to September. Now up to Feb 2013 as an estimated estimation date.
Someone really needs to do a FOI request and find out how many areas VM actually completed within the first time span they gave customers, along with how many customers had their dates changed at least once.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
absolutely dude, there should be a rule (if there isnt one already) stating that all time scales and estimates must be achievable and there must be a 90% compliancy rate.
You would hope some planning went into the schedule and somebody actually worked out how much work needed to be done and how long it would take. If so, why are so many areas being put back by months? I wish BT would jump on the band wagon and put some sort of ad out humiliating VM for this. It is a joke.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
So how does this work, I am on VIP Premier but with 50mb because I came from VIP 50.
My upgrade has now been pushed back to May-July next year. Can I just call and say, hey I am paying the premier price I want 100mb now.

You would be able to upgrade to the current VIP Collection which comes with 100Mbit - however be aware this would cost more than you are paying as the VIP Collection now comes with Talk Unlimited Extra
You may also be able to get an in place early upgrade to 100Mbit if there is capacity available - this isn't guaranteed though

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
On the phone now. Will I need to change my modem as I have modem and router at the moment ?
Scratch that, been told 100mb just not available in this area yet and will only be available from May next year (which is a year delay from the original date). Very very poor, BT infinity now faster in this area.
Shouldn't we get some sort of discount as paying the price for 100mb but only getting 50 ?

All areas can do 100Mbit, but not all areas have capacity to upgrade customers early.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
I was told categorically on the phone that 100mb is not in this area, so couldn't have it even if I was a new customer.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
Indeed, 100/5 is available in all areas. Not all areas ever had 100/10 or currently have 100/10 available though, which I consider the "full" 100Mb service.
It's not unlike offshore customer services to get stuff seriously wrong though.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
On the phone again now, trying a different tack, going through billing and just asking for an upgrade to VIP collections, will I get a super hub ?
She is having trouble with the codes at the moment as the final price is coming up as less than I am paying now

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
But then plus my Spotify sub it should be £122.90 which is more than I pay now.
She has now got to phone me back as they are having trouble with my account.
What sort of billing system do you run there, surely this is just a case of put me on VIP collections thanks.?
