Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 3
[QUOTE=Dave42;35713831]as you well know Howard mate that a sky inforced charge not a VM so cant blame VM for that as for not paying extra for SA that's a basic channel as you well know as well and Sports is Premium so yes that's a extra charge
But didn`t I read on here somewhere that virgin also add a couple of quid on for themselves?

The powers that be within BSKYB obviously deem it more beneficial as exclusive currently , no doubt over time this will change.

It is a very good deal as it's only £40 more than the Bein sports service i use.
ps i think a lot of you will be very disappointed Tuesday a 3rd source has now said the Skysports hd channels aren't launching this week they will be here before the new season.
I really hope they are wrong.

Yes, well they are not listed for Virgin in the TV magazines, and given the lead in time, you would have thought the channel numbers would be there. So I'm not optimistic it is going to be this week, but wouldn't rule it out.

That's not to say either that there weren't further discussions taking place over the detail, based on how many people were subscribing to BT and VM trying to push down the asking price right up until the last minute.
Obviously, I don't know the precise detail because I was not involved in the discussions and don't know anyone with inside knowledge. However, you may recall that there were indications from VM that BT Sport was coming and VM had to take down information quite quickly after putting them up on our TV screens. There are a number of posts about this on the Forum that were added at around about that time.
It was always clear in my mind that VM were going for a Setanta-type deal and it was only a question of the price.
