Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
Here is some good advice from Money Saving Expert on how to haggle with your provider:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/pho...vice-providers
"Loyal customers are corporate manna from heaven. Companies love them, as they stay with them through thick 'n' thin, paying full price and never checking if their deal is competitive or can be beaten.
This lets them rake in regular, guaranteed easy profit. So ask yourself a question: do you want to be a customer whose business is fought for or one who's taken for granted?"

Rise of £5.50 in February but "got" a £7.00 discount in exchange for a new contract. So I am satisfied

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
My increase has come through at £5.75 per month - as I pay for the £120 Line Saver in advance, do I still see this £5.75 increase or will it be less please?
I am on Mates Rates with XL TV/60MB BB/XL Phone, 2xTivo, 1xV+ and Mobile/International add ons (that we have no use for but was part of the package) - what does the £5.75 relate to specifically please? I know it is the package, but could I remove anything/downgrade to save money without my Mates Rates being removed? I believe there are different Mates Rates deals now from reading around on the web, so could I swap to a different deal or am I fixed to the package that I signed up with?
I appreciate we got a reasonable deal (not as a good a saving as the original Mates Rates 50% off deal) but £5.75 is a 10%+ rise per month on top of the rises earlier in the year.
Many thanks

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
I had my letter in december stating a £5.75 price increase on the premiere collection.
I dont have much spare time with work and family and i now find that im watching more netflix than tivo so i decided to ring virgin to downgrade to broadband only and then just use netflix on my PS3.
When i phoned i was told that i couldnt downgrade as i still have 11 months remaining on my contract and that i needed to have phoned them by dec 31st.
Is this correct or should i have until the end of jan to get out of contract due to the price increase. The letter states 30 days, but it is only dated with december.

Re: 6.7% Price Increase From February!
My increased VM bill took effect this month, in order to finance it, good job my VM mobile contract came to an end, I now uses VM Mobiles sim only using my old phone, the next increase will see me cancelling the sim only line, and will move to Ovivo where the monthly charge is £0.

You have 31 days from when YOU RECEIVED the price increase notification. My letter only arrived 2 weeks ago.
